Happy birthday cassandra

we met Cassandra and Eric in Rochester sunday afternoon for lunch.
it was great to see them, I do love that live closer now then they have for several
years.
November 15th and we were gathered outdoors for a photo without coats, I am enjoying this very mild fall completely.
Happy Birthday Cassandra! From your earliest days it was abundantly clear that you were going to experience life your way, at you pace. No matter how often I tried to hurry you up, you taught me to slow down and enjoy the moment. For every person who said you can't or its impossible, you became more determined to show them you could and did. You are kind, generous and real. I love that you still view life with curious wonder and an adventurous spirit. So proud to be your mom.

The Wizard of Oz

we watched Gracie in her first high school play

When Bailey came on stage, Reyna leaned over to me and said "hey that's the girl who gives me suckers at the bank.  Did you know she was a good witch too?"  Love how she believes in magic and fairy tales.  This picture just captures that wonder.

Wizard

Bramble box is a monthly activity kit. October was all things wizard, she made her cape and magic wand.  Practiced some magic spells, the foaming volcano was a fascinating hit...as were the water beads.  Love how she can experience a hands on approach to creative play.  We have received several boxes now and each is brought out time and time again to play and pretend.

Ceiling art

Rosie's ceiling art class project...when we arrived for conferences I quickly noticed the art displayed on the ceiling, after conferences we stopped to look more closely at the many colorful panels fixed to the ceiling tiles.  Rosie pointed out the one she worked on with a few classmates, I enjoyed hearing the pride in her voice and the excitement as she described how they made them.

Breakfast with Dad

At school one morning.  In October the school offered an opportunity for Dad's to come have breakfast with their kids.  Reyna was pretty excited to share this meal with her Dad.  She reminded him for days that it was coming and told him to not forget.  He reminded her that he would be bringing her to school so he wouldn't forget.  She couldn't tell me what she ate that morning, perhaps because she was too busy telling me all about the things she did with her dad.

Cloudpet

Reyna has this cat that plays messages that are sent to her.  When she got the pet we added names of family who live near and far and she eagerly awaits the blinking heart which signals that she has a message.  She can then record a message to send back to the person.  Beckie had a fellow derby girl leave a message for rosie and reyna one night, they awoke the next morning to a message from rebel heart, one of their favorite derby girls, they were both pretty excited about that.

Movie night

The new peanut movie made even better when shared with her best friend.
Evan's mom and Cassandra have been friends for years, and Evan's grandma and I have been friends for a long, long time.  It's pretty cool to see these two continuing that friendship/ family connection.
Evan's mommy took this picture I think she summed it up quite well.
they have been friends before evan was born, katie snuggled reyna often while pregnant with evan. I love watching them grow together, I love this connection they share.

Switch witch

Every year a few says after Halloween the kids sort thru their candy keeping a certain number of pieces the rest is bagfed, and usually sent to work with kevin.   This year I read about how one family hand mn ed the removal of all that candy, the switch witch visits.... the kids leave their candy on the counter and the switch witch takes it and leaves  behind a treat...loved the idea

Let it snow

She came downstairs wearing this outfit singing "Let it go" ran to the window and said "we need snow to match my outfit!" No, small child mother nature does not need to coordinate with your outfits

This is what

The day after halloween, day light savings time and too much sugar looks like.  Her smile was strained her eyes were beginning to droop and she spoke in the language of whine...soon after this photo it just got ugly
