5-8 Club

Beckie suggested we eat here. She had seen it,on the tv show Man versus Food. She said the juicy Lucy's were exceptional. She was right.  A hamburger with melted cheese inside grilled bun and fries. Wow!!

Happy Birthday Josh!

25 years ago I become a mom to a son.
(25 years? seriously)
He was my calm, easy going, relaxed child.
(which made me think I knew a thing or two about this parenting stuff)
He grew into a confident, strong, amazing young man
(and no I take no credit for that, it is all him)
It has been quarter of a century of being a mom to a son, to him
(and daily I am amazed, and thankful)
I am so proud of him!
(thanks josh for making this mom job such an amazing journey)

April showers.....

bring giggles

and laughter

dancing

and wet toes

pure joy

that only a child can show when embracing an unexpected shower quickly followed by the sun

there was puddle running

and splashing

and mor smiles

and happy faces

and naturally one just had to try to swim....

birthday

she has a summer birthday
which means each school year she gets to pick a day to celebrate her birthday
I think she was afraid we were going to forget
which I did, sorta
and so this past week we worked on what she wanted to bring as her treat
and on Monday she carried all 26 water bottles to school.
well anthony and yahaira helped her out
She was one very excited almost 7 year old that went out the door that morning.

ready to hunt for eggs

she had been picking eggs up and moving them while we "hid" the eggs
when it was time to hunt for eggs she casually strolled through the yard picking this egg or that
I don't think she got the whole egg hunt concept just yet

loved watching her race to find the eggs, loved hearing her laughter

he is a seasoned pro at this, and focused his hunt on those often overlooked hiding spots

they circled the yard many times overlooking time and time again
many eggs.  I found as I hid the eggs every spot I went too linette had already
used, we do think alike when it comes to egg hiding it would seem

the lucky hunter this year, she found the egg with the 20 in it
this year there was no chance of trading it with an older sibling for candy
(yes those older ones have tried it in the past they have yet to be successful in this trade option)

she was excited with the candy, the money  or the toys
honestly she was just excited about the whole hunting for eggs

don't touch my eggs, no really don't touch them
as we tried to see what she had found, the little wonder freaked
which led to the little wonder heading inside for a long overdue nap

gas money!

after the hunt smiles

he doesn't like his picture taken
(I wonder where I get that from?)
love that I captured them in conversation
glad I didn't capture the faces they gave me when they realized I took their photo

hunting for baskets

apparently that easter bunny did an excellent job of hiding baskets this year
it took a lot of searching until they were all found.

Happy Easter

 from the Haycraft's
you will notice the two year old is missing in the pictures
the photo above captures her whole opinion on picture taking.
I woke at 6:28, church was at 7
yes, we did manage to wake and get dressed
2 adults and 7 kids
arriving at church at ten minutes to 7
whew, it was perhaps the calmest service I've been to with this crew
I think most weren't fully awake and a bit in shock perhaps
