Happy Birthday Beckie

Tuesday she turned 27 (really 27??) How did that happen?
She decided eating at Bergen would be the perfect way to celebrate and indeed it was.
Cassandra had suggested a flamingo designed cake which was indeed a hit.
It is a gift to be her mom to watch her become this amazing person Who is strong and beautiful  she inspires me

we tried this the other night...
and amazingly it went quite well
considering I couldn't make them fast enought to keep all the little people in the house happy
since then we have made them again, with the very immediate request to make then another time and another time
I think we found a hit here...

and a use for that lefsa pan I purchased a few years ago, which until now has sat int he box
only being used once in an epic failure of a moment in an attempt to make lefsa

kassandra was over spending time with bertha before she left and agreed to be our photographer
and thus we attempted to capture a family picture so bertha could remember us...
(she may wish to forget after that experience)

yes they are in their pj's sometimes you just have to roll with it

no they didn't co-operate really why would they?

Bertha left the next day...it has been a long week adjusting to life and home without her
smiling face in it...we do miss her.

rosie is fascinated by these animals
which resulted in spending a lot of time at this exhibit
she was determined to see them in the water...
I was worried they were determined to stay out of the water
but eventually they did go for a swim which made one little 7 year old extremely happy
(of all thes exhibits this is the one I was most dissappointed in,, it was an enclosed
setting, no windows or sunlight...just a lot of bricks and cement)

Great Plains Zoo

who knew that this gem of a zoo was hidden in the plains of sioux falls
it is one of my top three favorite zoos...pure awesomeness!!!
