a sad day...

today is the last day the Dairy Queen is open for the season...
naturally we joined the line of cars to get one last ice cream before the season ends..

low water levels at the lake made shell hunting a success today...

well hello fall...

 

 

you snuck up on us this year....
with this unseasonable spring and summer
it seems fall is following suit.
arriving early...fields are empty as harvesting arrived several weeks earlier than usual
leaves are changing and falling from trees...and even those are normal signs of fall
so far we haven't had too much fall like temps...
wondering how winter will round out this rather different year of seasons we have had.

but the colors of the leaves certainly suggest fall is arriving...

Fire Prevention week...

we attended the open house held by the fire department.
the girls thought this activty was the best!

Homecoming was Friday September 21st.  The parade started the days activities, leading to a pep fest at the football field, powderpuff game and of course the football game that evening.
