and just like that

a storm rolled in...
rumbles of thunder hinted at what was coming, but it was hard to believe because the sun was shining and our space was filled with warm summer light...
a bit later we ventrued out and realized that this time the storm came in from a different direction...
a short while after I snapped this photo it started to rain...ground soaking rain.
so needed this rain...and as quickly as it blew in it went away
leaving the sunshine once again...

Glow sticks

Make bath time so much more fun
And getting this one to pause to take a bath is nearly impossible ...until you add a few glow sticks

flowers, kids, and sky

as requested by kelly...
well she didn't exactly request those at first...instead she sent me a text
....blog please
(which means update your damn blog)
i sent a text back saying "I should take pictures and then I could do that"
Kelly replied with "then take pictures"
(she is rather to the point is she not and rather clueless to my whole lack of motivation to update that blog)
my response was just as pointed "nothing inspires me these days"
(transalation I've become quite lazy)
to which she replied
"flowers, kids, sky"
so there you go kelly just as you asked...

new glasses

he failed the vision screening during his sport physical...
last time he was at the eye doctor 2010....sigh I don't even want to wonder how his happened
yesterday he came home  sporting these glasses..."wow mom everything is so clear"
pause for mom guilt moment #6,394,286
so glad he is finally seeing all the beauty this world has to offer.

taco sauce...

to clean dirty pennies?
this was another experiment in our science kit...and these two were rather skeptical that you could use
taco sauce to restore a penny to it's shiny/new state...

and there you go, indeed it does work....
lot's of wow's I didn't think it would work and can we do more were shared with me
Oh! and the request for taco's for dinner...
that sense of smell is certainly a strong sense

solar cooker

part of a science kit I purchased not too long ago...
this experiment involved making s'mores using solar power
it was quite the hit (it contained chocolate how could it not be?)
several s'mores were made throughout the afternoon
laughter and chocolate faces were shared by many...
and I loved that they were learning as they played

her faces

change by the moment....
her face tells me everything her words do not
(oh I trust  that will still be true when she is a teenager)

things are still growing...

despite the lack of rain...

so excited to see apples on this tree, our very own honeycrisp tree

and this plant looks outstanding does it not?
discovered that when sent out to water the plants on the porch
(there were 6 baskets and planters )
Anthony watered this fern, none of the others mind you....he felt the directive to water the plants
on the porch meant to chooses which you wanted to water...sigh god save me from 11 year old thinking.  Two baskets had to be tossed and the remaining containers came back...barely
and this plant....well isn't it a shining example of what water can do.
