and happy...not a common site with these two. but, certainly treasured when it happens

spaces and areas in the yard with color and beauty. This year the front porch has drawn my attention and slowly I'm creating a space that is both inviting and calm. filled with color, beauty and peace. My hope is for a space where when needed someone can visit and find some quiet or space. Just as I finished planting those boxes the rain started. perfect timing to water all those newly planted flowers and vegtables.

Lilacs

love when the lilacs bloom...the scent drifts in through the open windows and vases fill spots around the house. it is a time I look forward to each year. The lilac bushes were the first thing I planted the first year in our house.

lipstick

Rosie saw a video on YouTube on how to make lipstick from crayons...I finally remembered to buy the coconut oil on saturday so monday we pulled out the supplies and got busy making lipstick

she melted the tablespoon of coconut oil and then added a few pieces of crayons to melt

once melted she poured the mixture into containers...

this kid loves mixing and creating, the messier the better. She was so excited to make lipstick and has had as much fun applying it again and again.

they spent a lot of hours in the pool at the hotel, until late saturday night and once again early sunday morning until it was time to check out this is where you found those younger members of our family.

birthday cupcake

reyna had a certificate from Barnes and Noble for a free cupcake for her birthday..I think that cupcake is as big as she is. no , she didn't eat the whole thing a couple of bites and she was done.

American Girl

Rosie wanted to visit the American Girl store...where she found matching outfits for her and her doll.

Build a bear....

kelly gave me the idea of giving reyna a build a bear for her birthday, this past weekend we headed to bloomington for the weekend our plans to stay in a hotel and just enjoy the time away. All of the older kids were able to join us which brought us to 12 people in all. 2 parents, 3 adult kids, 2 teenagers and 5kids. we spent saturday at the mall of america and then those younger kids went swimming. Build a bear was on our list of places to visit. Reyna and Pedro carefully picked their bear and then moved to the area where they filled the bear with stuffing. The person helping them was so fun and energetic she had them dancing and giggling. She built the whole bear is to snuggle and love attitude and just made the whole experience magical.
