egg hunt

waiting, and waiting some more...
searching and searching...to no avail.
Yahaira even requested her glasses since she was unable to spot any eggs.
after awhile we admitted that we actually had not hid any eggs.
(so mean of us adults I know)
eventually the eggs were hidden and found by those patiently waiting hunters.

it is

always a challenge getting all those faces together in one pic.
one expects those smaller ones to be difficult, those older ones,
well they should simply know that cooperating is simply the easiest
thing.

coloring eggs

here are the pictures promised several days ago.
and yes most of those fingers are still quite colorful.
Rosie enjoyed the entire coloring experience so much that she also
colored all the non hard boiled eggs in the fridge.
that made for an interesting discovery...always an adventure with this one

to our little part of the world all the way from Turkey.
Love how the Internet has made our world just a tiny bit more reachable.
Love how these colors just make me happy, so ready for spring in this part of the world.

daycare egg hunt...

Sunday was the annual egg hunt for my daycare kids.
it didn't look promising weather wise, with snow most of the evening and early morning.
This year as we put the eggs out it seemed it would truly be an egg hunt (compared to other years when the yard is simply filled with an array of color) as each egg dropped to the ground it quickly slipped into the snow to be hidden this year it actually required some hunting to find all those eggs. The sun was out by the time the egg hunt started and the temps were quite mild.
Lot's of happy hunters when all was said and done.

I was pretty excited when she brought the disk over this afternoon.
I'm afraid leaving my camera in the hands of my older kids, resulted in a lot of blurry shots, mixed
in with a few floor shots and of course the ever familiar ceiling shot. sigh. Needless to say there weren't too
many usable photos...but now there are a lot of photos, thanks to Jean.

What a busy, wonderful day.
What a great reason to celebrate.
So amazing to share this day with so many special people.

I got when I said "No! you may not have just one more piece"
It was 9pm and we had just finished filling eggs, and actually had a handful of candy left.
This little wonder asked for just one more, (of course if we had added up all the "just one more's" she had consumed tonight it may have made us all pause) good thing for you there is no sound with this photo...if there were you would hear the wailing and the over the top drama that was occurring. She is good....but her mom is even better at ignoring that bit of drama.

and eventually you get all 600 eggs for the annual Daycare Egg Hunt
filled. Usually this task is completed much sooner (the egg hunt is Sunday)
I admit I have been avoiding it, until tonight, and only because there is simply no other time in the next few days that I would be able to accomplish this task, well perhaps 2am on Friday night might work, but I'm thinking I would be the only one filling eggs, not to mention I do like to sleep at that time of the night. So tonight it was, and it went quite well, with some very eager helpers, Anthony and Rosie and some not so eager Josh. a bit of candy was tossed around, you know I would think by now Josh would remember how good his mother's aim is. A few eggs were tossed too, Rosie is showing signs of excellent aim also. Found a couple eggs with left over chocolate from last year...and of course there was a bit of chocolate consumed (it helps to keep the volunteers active :)

and yes it would appear Anthony has wore the same outfit a couple of years
and if you look close you will see that Yahaira and Rosie are wearing the same dress
in different years. It would appear that this year Anthony broke away from the green
theme, and the girls were not all in pink. This year was also a first for hats, although
previous years certainly had headbands and bows. Love how Nichole changes the set each year, love
how it always matches what the kids are wearing.

Ok so the pics are not the best it was rather late when I took them.
This was the scene outside my house Saturday night. When I plugged in the heater Saturday night the most amazing/alarming thing occured the lights in most of the house dimmed. When I unplugged the heater, the lights returned to normal.. Ok that was just a bit too weird for me. Of course I tested it again, and again it did the same thing. Thus began a bit more exploring, some rooms worked, the tv worked too, but other rooms no lights would come on, no matter how many times you flipped the switch. So I called the city, wondering about power outages, there were none, but the very kind person on the other end assured me that someone would be there soon to look at it, and that yes it would be safe to stay in my house, by that point I was wondering if my wires were shorting out and just going to simply burn my house down, or blow it up. I did even have a moment where I wondered if we had a ghost or two or three. (I am quite adept at thinking of worse case scenarios) Once the city crew arrived they discovered we were only receiving a part of the power we should have been receiving, eventually they fixed the problem as best they could with a promise to return Monday to complete the work. I am happy to say no lights have dimmed, or refused to turn on since Saturday night.
