kiwanas holiday lights
a magical, breathtaking experience
where we wandered a pathway lined with candy canes and lights (a million lights in all)
(thanks beckie for suggesting we walk rather than drive thru the exhibit)
it was amazing! there were lights synced to music trees draped in lights...
as you gazed up you just felt surrounded in the magic... we visited the reindeer and said hi to santa
it was a perfect evening to wander around outside with temp hovering at 40 on December 1st??
this was the first year for this event I can see this becoming a tradition for our family
it was truly an amazing experience!
meeting santa
on wednesday
and after the meds they gave her
she came out of the anestisia very upset and disoriented
kevin carried a few scratch marks on his arms from that experience
most of the day she slept while I held her or curled up in bed
around 10:30 that night her appetite returned where she requested hotdogs with ketchup, popcorn,
chocolate milk, and crackers
the next day she had bounced back to her normal busy cheerful self
where
holiday lights parade
in town Friday night...
I wonder if I will ever master the art of photos at night, when it's cold (most of the photos are covered in a cloud of fog because apparently exhaling when you snap the photos results in just this thing)
we watched the parade in temps that were in the upper 30's it lasted for 15 minutes or so we then wandered down to meet Santa...a bit longer wait for that momentous event. When it was our turn Reyna stared the jolly old man down and then redirected towards Mrs. Claus where she sat quite contently for a photo...whew may I just say three is a wee bit calmer than two was.
home to drop off Popsicles (handed out during the parade...seriously) and then the decision to go out to eat, there was that minor episode when I backed out of the garage, mirror on passengers side did not survive (no pictures of that shining moment) arrived at the restaurant to a packed standing outside the door wait...looked at the van full of kids and gave into their original request for pizza (yes that made Jake's delivery two days in a row....now healthy mom of the year award for me)
Christmas movie in the dvr all kids in pj's early curled up on the couch or chairs settled in for the night
enjoying Home Alone. Not a bad way to spend a Friday night.
