Saw this idea on pinterest and reyna said "we need to make these" I laughed because naturally she woukd want to make them the girl loves marshmallows. And yet anothe nod towards doctor who.

Roller coaster...
an assignment he received before christmas break, one he conviently forgot about during said break. A text from the teacher on January 1st with a reminder that the project would be due in a few weeks and that plans needed to be approved soon. That look I dread, the one that says "oh crap I forgot about that assignment" He said he was going to work on it and turn in the plans the next day...another text today saying that the projects were due this week and yet again "that look"
after several hours of trial and error he had a roller coaster with three hills at least a meter tall and no more than two meters long, and bonus the car will actually race through it.

Doctor Who
I was reading this picture book to the daycare kids the other day
Just a snowman...a little critter book. When I reached this page
Reyna exclaimed "hey! there's doctor who"
and sure enough in the window of the oven is a picture of the Tardis.
guessing we have been watchin a little much of doctor who around these parts
Beckie is quite proud of her 4 year old sister who can spot a doctor who reference so quickly.

1/2 birthday
she celebrated her half birthday on the january 7th...since school is out by the time her actualy birthday rolls around her teacher suggested celebrating her half birthday.. She was so excited to bring a treat for her class,

when the weather becomes so cold that heading outdoors is on a need to only basis
and that consists of quick trips in warmed up vehichels. When there is no reason to be anywhere but at home is the choice. When the govenor closes schools for the entire state on a monday when the high temp was -23 and the windchill dipped down to -50
there are only so many movies one can watch, and so many books to read, and after days upon days of sharing this space a change needed to happen..so I searched for some science experiements to do when the temps drop below zero...
the first one was testing how long a wet t-shirt took to freeze
about 3 1/2 minutes at -23
she bravely donned her coat (okay actually she was rather eager to head outside in the bracingly fresh air to hand the shirt on the clothesline
next we boiled water and threw it out the window..no picture of it turning to vapor and snow
it happend to fast for the camera to capture
and finally as the sun set and darkness fell we blew a few bubbles outdoors
and watched them freeze..yes they are mittenless and most likely not dressed for the conditions
but they live in minnesota, they can handle a little cold in tiny bits and pieces
frozen bubbles turn rubbery and flexible a rather fun experience
to actually catch them on paper and watch them roll
