Leaving the neighborhood

Gas prices
We have a hyvee fuel savers card you earn cents off you fuel purchase when you buy certain items. This last shopping visit had a total of 1.04 of a gallon. Tonight
Kevin filled his empty van for under 20.00. I can't remember if we gave ever been able to do that.

Guess who lost a tooth

Dinner
Yahaira has been taking 1st communion classes for the past 4 weeks. Part of the class includes a meal shared by the families participating. Wednesday was our turn to provide the meal. She planned for weeks what we would bring. She came home from school wondering if it was time to go to class her excitement was impossible to contain. What a great idea to include a meal as part of these classes. Her class is small only 5 students and each week she would come home from school sharing with me what the person that week was bringing. That they were talking and sharing outside of the actual class was a great thing to experience. After all a part of communion is belonging to a family in faith and communion is a meal what a great way to teach these young people about an important part of their church life.

Basketball for the day
5 1/2 hours of basketball is a bit much for even the die hard fan

Happy Birthday Rose
