hiding eggs....

well actually they aren't hidden....which every year my mother in law points out to me.
Sigh, with the potential of 20+ kids attending the egg hunt, I'm afraid I do not have that many hiding places in my yard, or perhaps I'm just simply not creative enough to find that many hiding places. So we scatter the eggs around the yard, which actually looks pretty cool. Love the bright colorful splash it adds to an otherwise drab landscape. Cassandra and Jay were watching the eggs before the actual hunt...no not in hopes they may hatch, but it would seem in the last few years we have had a bit of a problem with a large number of eggs disappearing thus the need for someone to monitor them before the hunt. sad I know but I guess it's part of living where I live.
filling eggs....

Saturday was the day to fill the plastic eggs for the annual daycare Easter egg hunt. I did procrastinate a bit this year and leaving it until the day before the actual hunt was pushing it even for me. I recruited help, bribed, begged, and pleaded if you must know. (actually it wasn't too difficult perhaps the offer of pizza was a great incentive) Linda and Jay, along with my entire household, and Ryan all helped fill the eggs, and consume chocolate...some ate far more than others ....they know who you are. Rosie intently filled eggs this year, and just as intently ate chocolate. The last pictures shows the eggs all filled and ready to be put out on Sunday. Always a relief when that task is finished. I think we had about 25pounds of candy for this years hunt. No idea how many eggs, I stopped counting several years ago.

Just wanted to share...
Cassandra had to design her own web pages for her computer apps class. The other night she showed it to me and I have to admit I was quite impressed. As any proud mom would do I'm going to share it with you. She chose her trip to New York city last spring as the topic. I would love to know how to do something like this. Once you visit click on the email button and let her know what you think...she would love to hear from you.

Blowing bubbles

the weather has been amazing these past two days....The kids have been outdoors enjoying the fresh air and sunshine.
Naturally the ground is a bit soggy and muddy so our play area is limited to the driveway, which means we have to get creative in activities suitable for this space. One of the favorite things is blowing bubbles. I love when the weather if finally nice enough for us to head outside...love watching the wave of bubbles as the kids fill the air with them. Love hearing their giggles and seeing their grins.
Spring is just around the corner....and we are so very ready for it to arrive.

Easter pics

Love this time of the year, love that Nichole does pictures with live bunnies and chicks
It is a tradition, one that proves interesting each year.
One never knows which child will tweak out when presented with a living breathing animal.
It can go from wonderful to chaos in a blink, then there is Nichole who is simply amazing
amidst all the chaos that is my children she calmly takes pictures, capturing the most beautiful images.
She is my hero.
So here is this years version, once again I have no idea how I will choose. Most likely I will just simply order them all
since picking is such a challenge. I had to include the pic of Rosie covering her eyes, no she isn't playing peek-a-boo
she simply was done, and in her two year old world if she covers her eyes it all goes away. Wondering if that would work in this 43 year olds world.
