thanksgiving dinner
or feast as Rosie referred to it...
turkey, stuffing, cheesy potatoes, baked beans, ham, mashed potatoes and gravy,
orange jello salad, snicker salad, pumpkin pudding (say that three times fast) pumpkin crunch(amazing!!!)
strawberry pretzel dessert, cranberries, pickles buns and pepto bismal (ok just kidding about that one, sorta)
Thankful...

Thanksgiving a time to reflect on that which we are thankful for
it seems silly to put aside just one day when daily I have something I am thankful for.
granted some days it's a bit hard to find it, but it is always there.
so this Thanksgiving day here are the things I am thankful for:
for those big and little feet that fill my life
family and friends who have become family
kevin who is an great dad to our 7 kids
my health
those who are not near but who gift my life in the most wonderful way
laughter and giggles and impish little faces
a job I love
Happy Thanksgiving!

yes it's early...

but because it snowed...it just triggered the wish to listen to Christmas music
and this I stumbled upon after reading a blog post from a favorite blogger
and instantly I knew this album would join our Christmas music list..
as I type this I am listening to the album for the second or third time tonight...
want to listen for yourself? go to The Lower Lights
it's good stuff, and rather makes that snow seem appropriate
(did I just say that?)
it happened
not only did I have to pull out mittens today
(I have been known to wear mittens and sweatshirt and be just toasty)
but.....
I also had to pull out the winter coat.
21 degrees
is just a tad too chilly for this girl
(who am I kidding 65 is too chilly for me)
and so it begins...the endless quest to stay warm
in this season that just makes me want to hibernate
sadly life doesn't factor that into my plan
snow
the first of the season....
as soon as the first flake drifted to the ground
the chorus of "can we go outside? can we?" started
soon that is where you could find them...
outside, with happy shouts and giggles and endless laughter
they ran and slipped, and piled snow
in a way that only a child can welcome the first snowfall.
reyna joined them briefly
and by brief I mean minutes...
it took 20 minutes to dress her
she walked outside, looked around and came right back in
undressing took less than 5 minutes
a half hour spent preparing more than enjoying...
this time...
and with that I guess we say "hello winter"
