water exploration

an idea I found on Pinterest
and just knew that it would be a success

they love water, and frogs

I added some rocks and blue glass pebbles, made a lily pad
and dug out the plastic frogs from the bug box...added water
and instant fun!

sewing...

I don't sew.
and yet I own a sewing machine.
(perhaps I just hold out hope that some night I will magically gain the skills needed to sew.)
and in case you don't recall another attempt at sewing you can go here to refresh your memory
(a note she still uses that quilt I still shudder thinking about the process of making it)

some projects I plan to work on...some day.

and this would represent the project I just worked on...after failing in my quest to find a diaper changing pad
that I liked, didn't cost a fortune, and actually worked. I decided to just sew some.
yes those words should just not be thought or uttered  by me ever.

here is the first one completed...don't be too wowed it is after all a straight stitch
simple basic...that i can do.
usually

a few more completed...

and just what i had been looking for...
*I am happy to say that no fingers were lost or harmed in the making of these diaper pads.

guests...

the many who helped us celebrate Reyna's 3rd birthday

she is such a stinker when it comes to photos with brandon
she will not smile or look at the camera, and he tries so hard
and yet every night when she says her prayers he is always someone she names

food

it was quite simple to figure out the menu for this party
we just served the foods from the story of The Very Hungrey Caterpillar

no one in our house has ever eaten one of thsoe big lollipops
so I asked Candace if she could make cookies decorated to look like
lollipops...so many thought they were actually lollipops.

the cake was made by Candace who wowed everyone!
it was perfect and the details were amazing.
Reyna  loved it!
