She has been determined to do the monkey bars this spring. At first it was a couple of bars then 3, then she watched Pedro go across and she was focused on making it across....yes there is a bit of competition there. Today she did it!

Preschool graduation....

Wednesday was her graduation from preschool. She has attended preschool at kinderkids for the past two years. She loves her teacher Mrs. Malmgren and helper Kathy. Next fall it is off to Kindergarten for her, how can that even be possible? After a short program they served cake and she received her diploma. What a fun addition to her birthday!

field trip

ready for her class trip....2nd grade went to the zoo in Sioux Falls. she was up early and ready to go out the door well before she had to leave. I'm fairly certain that hasn't happened to often this school year.

a handful

"Today I am a handful!" she said to me this morning
(oh honey, you are a handful most days)
she has been counting the fingers on her hand since her second birthday and each year she would ask "am I a handful now?" and we would count to see how many more fingers until she reached that magical handful.
Today is the day, today she is 5, today she is one handful old!

Dandelion spray

I was searching pinterest the other night, rather than sleeping, for a more natural way to get rid of dandelions I found this recipe.
I think dandelions look cheerful and the kids love to pick handfuls of blooms all day long but kevin has a personal mission to rid his yard of those happy little flowers each year. I'm always reluctant about spraying chemicals in the areas where the kids play thus my pinterest search the other night. I had a few happy kids out spraying the dandelions today, (no, I didn't tell them it would kill them sigh I just couldn't be so cruel) so we will wait a day or two and see if it works.
here is the recipe:
1/2 gallon apple cider viegar
1/4 cup salt
1/2 tsp dawn dish soap (it was recomended to use dawn because the grease cutting of dawn would strip the plants oil and allow the other ingredients to work more effectively)

our may birthday's

Gracie and Reyna have birthday's in may. They were born a day apart. It makes for a fun month celebrating the birth of these two beautiful girls.

5th birthday party

sunday we celebrated her birthday with family and friends. She was so excited when the cake arrived
and when we cut the cake she loved the pink swirls inside. Pink is her favorite color. At times she seemed a bit overwhelmed by all the attention, but truly enjoyed this day spent celebrating her birth.
It was a sunny and warm day which allowed a lot of outside play a perfect way to spend the day in this girl's book.

mexican food from a local restraunt was a huge hit...I loved that it was so simple

cupcakes made by candace. Reyna wanted a flamingo themed birthday this year, beckie thought that was an excellent idea. so we searched for flamingo items, as is usual that proved to be a challenge I imagine next year there will be a wealth of flamingo items available in stores.
