8 on the 8th in 2008

A new project brewing in my head, well an adaptation of something I read awhile ago, tweaked to fit me and my life. My goal this year is to take 8 pictures on the 8th of each month, thus the title above :) creative of me, I know. So today commenced the first of 12 such days. With camera in hand I attempted to capture an all encompassing snapshot of our life on the 8th day of January. I never expected it to be so challenging, the uncooperative subjects (victims) I expected, but not the conscious effort it took to take that many pictures of a non event. The pressure I tell you to capture just the right picture to truly convey this day...ok so that lasted all of a couple of hours and then I just started taking any and every picture figuring I could weed out the worst and narrow it down to 8, gotta love photo editing software. So above are the first 8, for the first month of this year of 2008. Do you see a theme happening here? some of these photos you will see replayed in each coming month the one of the bird feeder I plan to snap each month, a way to show the changes in seasons. The group shot, that happened to be every person in my house at 7pm this evening, another planned photo for each month ( a great way to see the faces that come and go in my home) the rest random snapshots of the ordinary that is my life. Laundry, the girls enjoying attention from Josh, Grandma Betty here every weekday afternoon, Rosie's current crush on Ian, Yahaira ready for preschool, and of course how Yahaira usually looks late in the afternoon on preschool days. My other goal is to scrap these photos into one album to capture and record the memories of those ordinary days, (I seem to do well on capturing those "big" moments) which make up my life. I'm excited about this project and *gasp* actually want to scrap... check in on the 8th of next month to see a small snapshot of our 8th day of February.
