When she turned 5 yahaira tole her she coukd get her ears pierced. She thought about it and said yes but when we got to the store she changed her mind. Over the summer she woukd ask but never was quite ready to actually do it. .Saturday she woke up and said today I am getting my ears pierced and indeed that us exactly what she did

Crazy weather

Saturday in our way to new ulm we drove into some pretty crazy ( scary) weather.

At one point we were surrounded by swirling corn, branches and debris. The van lifted and bounced a few times and for several miles it was a white knuckle, scary ride. That is the closest I EVER need to be to a tornado !

Rosie's birthday party

a summer birthday, especially one that lands near a holiday makes birthday parties very hard to schedule. this year it became more complicated when the rest of summer included a two week trip for the birthday girls mom and surgery for one of her sisters. those events pretty much took the rest of july and august. So September is when we finally (got around to) had her birthday party with friends. She didn't mind a bit, just simply excited to share some time on a saturday afternoon with a group of friends. Her theme this year was adopting puppies (she had originally wanted to to adopt a real puppy but I was able to sway her towards the stuffed variety)

MAD girls match against the Goosetown rollers.

saturdayseptember 20th we traveled to New Ulm to watch Beckie in her first derby match with the MAD roller derby team from Mankato. having never been to a derby match before it was both entertaining and frightening for this mom to watch. I completely enjoyed it whenever beckie wasn't skating around the ring, but when she was in playing my eyes weren't quite so excited to watch her hit, and pushed again and again.
