a summer birthday, especially one that lands near a holiday makes birthday parties very hard to schedule. this year it became more complicated when the rest of summer included a two week trip for the birthday girls mom and surgery for one of her sisters. those events pretty much took the rest of july and august. So September is when we finally (got around to) had her birthday party with friends. She didn't mind a bit, just simply excited to share some time on a saturday afternoon with a group of friends. Her theme this year was adopting puppies (she had originally wanted to to adopt a real puppy but I was able to sway her towards the stuffed variety)
