Dance program

She was pretty excited about dancing at school.
even more excited that Josh came to watch her...
Her first of many performances, something tells me that this one is going to love the stage....
I envy and admire her for that.

and a few

final bathroom/laundry pictures
new towel dispenser, and shelves to attempt to reign in the clutter and chaos that is
many small people. The mirror was a Target find and for under 5 dollars it made my day.
I think we can say that this room is done.

painting project...

continues..it is slowly coming together as one by one another room
is painted. The top picutre is the beginning of the bedroom project..the bottom two
are the completed room. Loved the brown when it went on the wall immediately!
The green not so much, loved the name of the green tho "olive garden gree" what's not to love about a name like that
each time I looked at it tho I went ewwww complete with wrinkling my nose. Drama is important at times like these.
I can't say that I actually loved it until is what complete, then it just worked.

This must mean

spring can't be far away.
The local Dairy Queen opened back up the beginning of March, after taking most of the winter months off.
every little moment that reminds us of summer is enjoyed most completely this time of year..
this one is by far one of the best reminders of summer.

Surgery

waiting to go into surgery
ready to go with her kitty, and blanket

playing on the IPad as she waits
once it was time to go, she wasn't so sure...she wanted us to go back with her
left her in tears.

out of surgery and recover and back to her room
still quite groggy, her kitty now sports the patches for the monitors that the nurse had placed on Rosie before surgery

eating ice cream and drinking apple juice
ready to go home.
The surgery to put the tubes in her ears took less than 10 minutes, the drama before she entered the surgery suite took more than 10 minutes...she was in recovery for 10 minutes when they called for us to join her, the nurse said she just popped her eyes open and said where is my mom? It seems that most of our time was spent waiting...waiting for her to go to surgery and then waiting after for the affects of the anestia to wear off
Home now with her Justin Bieber doll, a surprise waiting for her when we left the hospital...she did awesome!

Next up....

In the room painting project...the laundry/bathroom
this as is so typical of most home repair moments in my life started out simple.
one half of a wall needed to be painted and the wall paper border replaced.
simple.
of course not...I couldn't find wallpaper that I liked (translate in a pattern that matched the existing paint in the room) so I did the logical thing and purchased the wallpaper border I did love.  It just happened to have an entirely different color scheme which of course means new paint had to be purchased .
No, don't try to figure out my logic it's a painful process just ask kevin.
so here is the room in the somewhat before mode
I forgot to take a photo before it was started so this is after the first coat of paint.
not so sure I'm liking these colors, but I will hold off until the room is done before making my final decision.
more pictures to follow once that is completed...hopefully soon, since all the stuff in that room is currently all over my house and bother I don't do well with chaos.

the view in my house this past week...

Three kids on antibiotics, one due to have surgery this week.
The fourth has a viral infection and is as equally miserable as the other three.
there is so much coughing, fevers, and throwing up that I am ready to check into a hotel just to avoid all the darn germs.

busy...

the last few weekends have been filled with rearranging rooms as we prepared for them to be painted
not by me of course that would push me right over the edge.  Reyna rather enjoyed the emptiness of the toy room running in circles again and again.  The first picture is of course how it looks now after it's paint job.  When I went to purchase the paint the very kind sales clerk almost refused to sell it to me. I lost count the number of times she asked "are you sure you want "this" color?"  I assured it was exactly what I wanted. and after it was completed it looked perfect.

Simply...

love how she pages through photo books again and again and again.
pointing to those she knows and saying their names (or her version of their name)
love how those little toes curl up when she is focused on what she is doing.

Chinese New Year

Yahaira went with her friend Emma to a Chinese New Year Celebration on Sunday.
They had their faces painted, how cool do they look?
played games, ate amazing food and had a blast!
I had one very tired but happy little girl Sunday evening. Even when she was almost asleep she was
still trying to tell me about one more thing she did during the day.

Freeze your Caboose off run...

Beckie and Cassandra along with Gracie and Olivia participated in this 4 mile run.
Held yearly in February, this past Sunday was the day, a beautiful day to be outdoors
41 wonderful degrees, last year the temp was around 6 degrees. I know this because I walked it.
We watched from various points cheering them on..so proud of all of them....especially Olivia and Gracie who finished ran for the first time and finished the race.
