Today was the annual garage sale event at the New Ulm Civic Center. I left the house by 7:30 this morning plann ing to arrive when it started at 8. This was the first time I had attended this and didn't know what to expect. I was quite surprised when I arrived to see every parking lot filled I ended up parking 2 blocks away.
This person was selling these McDonald's beanie babies for .25 each as I picked thru the shoes ky pile grew I just knew Reyna and the daycare kids were going to love these. As she put them in a bag she said how about 5.00 for all? I was speechless. I Had Thought .25 Was A bargain.
Wooden spools...it is hard to find wood toys for play and those that are available are always quite expensive .. these spools would be perfect for stacking and rolling. W hen I shared what I was going to use them for the lady said you can have all the bags for a 1.00 they had been marked .50 a bag. I seemed to be scoring all sorts of bargains today. The seller found me a bit later after I had moved on from her booth she had found some large wooden beads and wondered if I could use them. I nodded excitedly and then she said "they were in the free box, enjoy!" she said .
Brand new with tags...2.00
the little wonder wearing it was thrilled when she discovered it
Dishes for the outdoor kitchen. All are metal. 10.00 for all of them
Books for the little free library in our yard
.25 each, a few were .10
Scrapbooking paper...30.00
One can never have too much paper
Baskets ...I looked at them for the longest time trying to decide if I should buy them the price was reasonable at 5.00 but I just didn't know what I would use them for. I continued shopping and later when I was done with both sides of the center I went back. They were still there I took that as a sign and they came home with me. I also picked up a baby walker for my sister and pants for Pedro.
It was a successful day of garage sale shopping.
