Her new doll. Just like Olivia and Emma.
Which matters when you are 5, and playing with babies is for, well babies.
When we visited the American Girl store a few months ago, she was simply in awe. Just walking around looking at this doll and that.
She never asked for a doll...just so excited to be in that store and seeing all those wonderful dolls in person rather than in the catalog, which she pages thru time and time again. I had been hesitant to get her an American Girl Doll, not sure how well, one her age would be able to care for it, but then as we wandered down yet another aisle there was the best answer, a doll, not a baby, and one that didn't come with quite so many pieces, nor did it come with the big price tag..a bitty twin. The just right in between doll for her age. Later when she hung out at the hotel with her big siblings I returned to the store to buy the doll, one that looked a lot like her. Today she was pretty excited when she unwrapped her doll, it has been in her arms for most of the day and is now tucked into bed with her. When grandma Betty asked her what her dolls name was, she shrugged and said I don't know, to which grandma said well she looks like an Isabella, which Yahaira quickly agreed to. So Isabella it is.
