Each year the Canadian Pacific train company launches their holiday train.
There are actually two trains one runs throughout Canada and the other travels through
the states. Beckie had seen something about it on facebook and sent me the link, when I saw that it was going to be near us I knew we needed to go see it. Sunday found us in Janesville with a little (well a lot actually) time to kill while we waited for the train to arrive. It was a perfect night to spend outside. When we heard the train whistle the kids perked up (they had been troopers but it had been along wait) you could see the headlights of the train long before you could see the train and then in a blink there it was all lit up. it was impossible to not get swept up in the excitement and magic of the train arriving.
Santa made an appearance much to the delight of everyone
a 30 minute concert entertained all who had waited. Rosie said I can't believe we are
watching a concert outside at night in the winter...it's so magical!
there were firepits set up for those who waited for the train to arrive.
it was a late night getting home but no one seemed to mind, the memories made
seeing this magical train were worth the loss of sleep.
